Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic I found myself disinterested. As a means of escaping the seriousness of the city I found myself returning again and again to northern Ontario, to my home, and my family cabin. It wasn't until the pandemic struck and I was forced to conduct my endless explorations closer to home that I discovered the extent of the clear cutting that was happening just steps away from my family property.

At first, like anyone, I was concerned, afraid of what was happening to the wilderness just behind my cabin. However, as of this writing it has been 2 years since my first discovery of these large swaths of cleared forest that I've noticed how the land has begun to heal, and even thrive. The underbrush thick enough to keep you on the main roads, blueberries completely filling the space, and what trees still remain tower over the earth as great remnants of the forest that is quickly retaking the land. The following images are simply my own observations, of being in a space so destroyed, but also so full of life.
