On September 25, 2014 I was given the opportunity to explore and photograph one of Canada's most interesting scientific installations, SNOLAB. It is a physics laboratory in Sudbury, Ontario located 2 kilometers underground beneath a working nickel mine. It was my interest to enter into the space and with the help of SNOLAB's Communications Director I was able to view the experiments up close. During the time of my visit SNOLAB was operating a number of very interesting experiments including supernova detection, constructing equipment for dark matter detection, observing subatomic particles called neutrinos, and a number of other experiments well beyond my understanding.
